     FAQs

Frequently asked questions that relate to things you may want to know about hypnotherapy and your session.

1. Will I be aware of what is happening to me?

Answer: yes you will. Contrary to popular belief when under hypnosis your conscious mind is aware of the process and in some cases you will actually become more aware. At the same time it is your unconscious mind that is making the changes.

2. Can I bring myself out if I need to?

Answer: Yes. You are totally in control of your situation and can go in and out of trance if you need to. It is the job of the practitioner to ensure that you are always in a safe and comfortable space and state.

3. How does it work?

Answer: The majority of people are trying to solve their problems through the conscious mind without realising that their vast resources lie in the unconscious mind. Hypnosis bypasses the conscious mind allowing you to utilise these hidden resources. This form of therapy is particularly powerful as it puts you in the drivers seat allowing you to access your own answers and conclusions through the deeper part of your mind.

4. Can everybody be hypnotised?

Answer: Yes providing their is a willingness to be part of the process. It is the job of the practitioner to take you into this space and willingness to be open and follow the guidance given is essential. Hypnosis is a state that we naturally enter on a daily basis without even being aware of doing it. e.g. daydreaming, listening to music, watching tv...all of these are altered states of reality. It is nothing that you are not already able to do, you just may not have done it with volition and purpose.

5. Will the changes last or will I need to keep coming in for sessions?

Answer: Everyone is different. Most things can be dealt with within a session or two providing the client is ready and willing to make the necessary changes. We have an open door policy where people can return at anytime for a top up or work on another areas that they wish to change. Person growth is a passion of ours and we love to see people grow and evolve always at their own speed.

6. What is it effective for?

Answer: Pretty much anything that your mind deals with for example: study for exams or self, weight loss, performance issues personal and in sports, preparation for surgery, pain management, phobias and the list goes on. Think of it and you can probably deal with it through hypnotherapy sessions.

7. Will you turn me into a chicken is what people ask all the time?

Answer: This question comes from the stage hypnosis that people often see. It is entertainment only, has nothing to do with clinical hypnotherapy and we are entirely here for your benefit and the changes you seek. We totally respect and honour you and your unconscious minds ability to make positive change.
